Mango Street Unit - While reading Sandra Cisneros’s The House on Mango Street, students will put together a collection of writings relating to the various themes of the book.

Give Me a Vector Home - Students, working in groups of two or three, will choose a flight between two cities on a given date and time.  
Home on the Range…Dominate your domain! - Students will first find domain and range, then they will investigate functions as relationships, functions as graphs, and finally, the students will find the function of a given set of data, and use linear regression.  
Is an iPod’s shuffle function truly random? - iPod users have frequently questioned as to whether the shuffle feature found on iPods is truly random. This lesson will allow students to test this hypothesis using their own iPod while at the same time learning about probability and statistics.  
Mathematical Connections to Individual EDPs - Students will use their current EDP (Educational Development Plan) to investigate the mathematical connections to their top 3 career choices and present one of those choices to the class.  
A Problem Solving Plan Using Models 1.5 - A center/station approach to verbal descriptions of expressions & order of operations.  
Quadratic Function Review - This lesson utilizes a www.quickmath.com website to allow students to complete a review of quadratic functions.  
Quadratic Modeling - Students will be required to answer 1 of 4 basic quadratic modeling problems using Microsoft Excel and algebra to find maximum and minimum values.  
Rate of Change - (Rate of Change Activity) - Students will use SimCalc MathWorlds software to create graphs aid in students understanding of rate of change.  
Real Life Quadratics - Students will identify a situation that exhibits parabolic motion or has a parabolic shape, film it, and develop a quadratic equation for the real life example.

Introduction to Genetics - This lesson uses an interactive website to introduce students to the basics of genetics. The students answer a guided reading assignment as they navigate through the tutorials.  
Moving Earth - The Earth’s crust is in motion. The tectonic plates move causing volcanoes, earthquakes and other events.  
Oceans and Climate - The climate of the Earth is affected by the atmosphere and ocean currents and other large bodies of water such as the Great Lakes.  

Phases of the Moon and Tides - Students will learn the phases of the moon and relate these phases to the tidal effects and gravity.

 
Relating to Atoms - Students will develop an understanding about the spatial relationships of protons, neutrons, and electrons within the nucleus of an atom.  
Rock and Roll! - Igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks form through varied processes.  
Scientific Method in Action - This series of activities will introduce the concept of the Scientific Method, drawing out student’s prior knowledge.

My Island, My Democracy: Creating A New Nation (Mini-Society)—From Colonies and Constitutions to Countries :- The basic premise of this lesson plan is to allow for the “Artistic and Creative Presentation” of multi-media based presentations of projects based on the theme of living through History using the theme of Mini-Societies.  
Postwar United States, The Cold War (1945-1989) - After World War II, the Soviet Union drew an "iron curtain" between Eastern Europe and the rest of Europe.  
Stock Market 101 - In this lesson, students will simulate a stock purchase as if they were spending $10,000 of their own money.  
Limited and Unlimited Government - The focus question for this lesson is “What is the best way to govern a nation?”
